Bill on Criminal Police Cooperation to be ratified

Bill on Criminal Police Cooperation to be ratified

Cameroon is poised to ratify the agreement on Criminal Police Cooperation between Central and East African States.

This was the high-point of the presentation of Atanga Nji Paul, Minister of Territorial Administration before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly on November 18, 2024. Flanked by Felix Mbayu, Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of the Commonwealth and  Bolvine Wakata, Minister Delegate at the Presidency incharge of Relations with the National Assembly, Minister Atanga Nji Paul defended in front of the Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by Hon Banmi Emmanuel, why the law makers should adopt the bill, thus authorising the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya to ratify the agreement on Criminal Police Cooperation between Central and East African States.

After defending the bill, Minister Atanga Nji Paul told the media that it was an important bill, given that it will help states stem criminality within and across their borders, especially money laundering and terrorism that is threatening peace worldwide.
